CryptoPunks · interactive mechanism simulation

Claimers mint free punks from the fixed 10,000 supply → the contract's own zero-fee escrow settles offers and bids → a rare punk occasionally goes to auction. Trigger the V1 escrow bug to see why Larva Labs force-migrated everyone to V2.

Illustrative simulation. Defaults mirror the researched CryptoPunks mechanism (10,000 fixed supply, free gas-only claim, zero-fee in-contract escrow for offers and bids) — but claim speed, trade sizes, and timing are randomized for visualization, not live onchain data. The bug button replays the June 2017 V1 sale-flow bug, where the buyer (not the seller) could withdraw escrowed ETH, forcing Larva Labs to redeploy as V2. Part of The Onchain Experiment Atlas.
