Harberger Tax · interactive mechanism simulation

A patron self-assesses a price for the asset, streams a continuous tax on that price to a beneficiary, and can be force-bought by anyone at that price at any moment. Run dry on the tax deposit and the steward contract forecloses. Edit the parameters and watch the always-for-sale cycle run.

Illustrative simulation. Defaults mirror the researched mechanism (self-assessed price, continuous tax/patronage streamed from a pre-funded deposit, forced sale at the listed price by anyone, foreclosure when the deposit runs dry — as in This Artwork Is Always On Sale and Wildcards' VitalikSteward), but buyer timing and top-up behavior are randomized for visualization — not live onchain data. The "Trigger foreclosure" button illustrates the documented failure surface: owners losing the asset when their deposit runs out. Part of The Onchain Experiment Atlas.
